What Are Scale Model Houses?

What Is A Scale Model Home?

Scale model homes are designed to look smaller than the house itself. It is meant to serve as a guideline to what you want the finished project to look like. Sometimes scale model homes are drawn much larger, but not that often.

A Few Things To Remember About Your Scale Model Home

1) Your scale model home might finish on time or before schedule, but your real home will not. There are going to be delays and mistakes that come up. That is you need to make sure your scale home is the way you want it before you start building.

There will be changes. You will have the contractor suggesting things before the project is up and running. You need to settle as much as you can with the scale model before. Keep in mind, that sometimes the home you are building looks a bit different than the scale model. That happens. The model is there as a guideline, nothing more.

2) Your scale model home needs to be designed for more than just the here and now. Do you plan to live there in ten years? Do you plan to have kids, and if so, how many? You need to think about where you want to be later because that will affect the outcome of your current scale model home.

3) You should make all changes to the scale model before you start construction. I know that sounds obvious, but some people wait until the last minute to change something. That will make things more difficult later.
